The 44-year-old singer, Walker Hayes, was accompanied by entrepreneur and social media influencer Lexy Burke at a Nashville Waffle House location. They presented ,200 in tips to the workers after a meal. Burke, a former server, collects donations from her followers to offer restaurant staff generous tips. Her online movement, launched in May 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, has continued to support food service workers. Hayes expressed his gratitude for being included in Burke's generous efforts. He said, "Honestly, I’m just so grateful Lexy included me in something so generous that she has cultivated." He also shared his own experiences of receiving help when in need. "As far as giving back is concerned, it is wild to be on this side of the gift. We’ve had people give us cars when we were hurting financially, so we know what it’s like to need a little help."During a joint Instagram video with Burke, the two were seen meeting outside the Nashville Waffle House. Burke introduced Hayes as a "surprise contributor." When asked if they were ready to tip, Hayes replied with a smile, "Let’s big tip these people."Inside the restaurant, Burke chatted with a waitress who also works at a hospital. The server was amazed to see Hayes and told Burke, "Wow, he walked in while I was working. I don’t ever get to see anybody good." Another employee played Hayes' song "Fancy Like Christmas" on the jukebox as Hayes placed his order. He joked about wanting a new menu item called the "Waffle Hayes," which is a waffle with two eggs over-easy, bacon, and cheese folded like a taco. The waitress informed him that customers do order this item.After finishing their meal, Burke told the waitress and two other workers about her serial tipping movement. She said, "I do this thing like every holiday season on my social media where I just ask people to send in some spare change. So they do that and then my friend Walker wanted to contribute as well." Burke then revealed that they were giving each worker 0, for a total of ,200. The workers were astonished, with one saying, "What’s up?!" and Hayes assuring them that Burke was serious. Burke gave the waitress a stack of 0 bills, and the two hugged as the waitress expressed her gratitude. At the end of the video, the employees addressed Burke's followers, thanking them.
